Four men were arrested this week in a child-predator sting, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon.

In an undercover mission, detectives posed as underage boys and girls on multiple dating applications, social media sites and other online platforms, said the sheriff’s office. People messaged the fake profiles online and offered to meet with children they believed were offering sexual contacts.

Instead, they were met by law enforcement and arrested.

The following people were arrested on allegations of luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree. Detectives are releasing their names because they believe there may be real unidentified victims of the men, the sheriff’s office said.

  • Matthew P. Goldman, 30, of Tigard
  • Jesus Rodriguez-Garcia, 27, of Forest Grove, who made statements while chatting online with the detectives (whom he believed to be children) that he had engaged in sexual contact with other minors
  • Gerardo Serrano-Garcia, 25, of Hillsboro
  • Ruben Olvera-Gaona, 54, of Forest Grove, who was also arrested for a warrant out of Washington County for giving false information to a peace officer

Anyone with additional information about any of the people arrested is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 503-846-2700.

The sheriff’s office said it’s critical that parents warn their children about what’s happening on the internet and monitor who they connect with online.
