Fourteenth annual Lighted Tractor Parade set for Dec. 9 in Centralia

Posted

The 14th annual Lighted Tractor Parade is set to bring tractors, antique trucks, military vehicles and more to cruise through Centralia at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

The Centralia Downtown Association is organizing the popular event again this year.

The Lighted Tractor Parade will fill the streets of downtown Centralia with vintage and modern tractors, antique trucks and construction equipment, all bedecked with dazzling lights.

The parade will roll down Centralia's historic, scenic Tower Avenue and Main Street to celebrate the season and the city's agricultural heritage with the unique event.

The staging area for the parade will be in front of Centralia College on Locust Street.

At 6 p.m., the Lighted Tractor Parade will be underway, heading east on Locust, crossing Pearl Street then turning left onto Tower Avenue in front of the Fox Theatre where it will proceed up Tower Avenue to Center Street. Parts of Main Street, Pearl Street and Tower Avenue will be closed off during the parade.

“Every year we see the many hours of work and love that goes into each entry well before parade day,” said event organizer Mandi McDougall. “We are so thankful to our sponsors and entries for making downtown Centralia sparkle during our parade. We hear over and over how this event is not to be missed, and we could not agree more. There is something to captivate every age in our parade, from incredibly designed floats, antique and new tractors, and musical entries all the way to our final float carrying Santa Claus!”
