Napavine resident Frank Corbin announced his plans to run for Lewis County auditor earlier this week.
In a news release dated Sunday, March 15, Corbin declared his candidacy for Lewis County auditor, joining what is a relatively quiet county race so far. In his campaign announcement, Corbin highlighted many years of local service serving on a range of local boards and said his campaign would focus on “maintaining public trust.” Corbin is running as a Republican.
In the weekend news release, Corbin highlights three priorities for the job of county auditor: election integrity, fiscal stewardship, and public trust and accountability.
“Lewis County has earned a reputation for honest, professional administration of elections, fiscal policy, and public records,” Corbin said. “I am running to ensure that tradition continues.”
The county auditor role is responsible for a range of duties, including overseeing elections and voter registration, making and maintaining county records, licensing vehicles and aiding the county with key financial services, such as self-auditing.
Corbin currently serves as the chair of the Lewis County Planning Commission and in the past has served as chair of the Lewis County Veterans Advisory Board and the Lewis County Broadband Action Team.
According to his campaign announcement, Corbin is also an ordained minister, a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired program analyst with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and a former banker.
“My goal is simple,” Corbin wrote. “To provide steady leadership for a trusted office and to protect the reputation Lewis County has earned for honest and professional administration.”
Corbin is one of three to file to run for Lewis County auditor with the Washington state Public Disclosure Commission. Two other candidates, Mitchel Townsend and Michael Patrick Bannan, have also filed public disclosures, meaning they are able to begin campaigning for the position.
