Sweet Dough Cookie Co. — a business known for its sweet treats, long lines and an owner who has been featured on the Food Network — is preparing to reopen in a new location.

Bakery owner Ashlee Shirer has announced the formerly Centralia-based business will open its doors at a new location in Chehalis on Saturday, May 11. The storefront opens each Saturday at 9 a.m. and remains open until all cookies are gone.

The new location is at 734 S. Market Blvd. in Chehalis, next to Benny’s Florist.

The business is going from an 800-square-foot space to a building with 3,000 square feet of space.

Shirer is in her third year of operating Sweet Dough Cookie Co. as a storefront. She started her business in 2018 as a custom-order sugar cookie operation. Shirer said she has been baking since she was 13 years old.

Shirer made headlines in 2018 to 2020 for her appearances on the Food Network show “Christmas Cookie Challenge,” where she twice won $10,000 for her expertly baked and decorated cookies. She ran the custom-order bakery through her website, selling by the dozens to people across the country for weddings, bridal showers, birthdays and other events, before opening the brick-and-mortar shop on Main Street in Centralia in 2022.

Shirer offers pre-orders through her website, https://sweetdoughcookieco.com/, on Thursday before each Saturday opening.

“Pre-ordering means you’re guaranteed what you bought online and you can skip the line, get your cookies and go home to enjoy them!” Shirer wrote on Facebook.

“I have so many people to thank for tackling this project with me,” she wrote in a separate post. “I am such a lucky girl!”
