Centralia College, in partnership with McMenamins Olympic Club, will host a History Pub event on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The evening will be dedicated to America’s favorite pastime and showcase a presentation titled “Baseball as America,” by Brandon Chapman.

The doors to the theater will open at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome and tickets will cost $5.

Chapman is from Centralia and is a graduate of Centralia College, Washington State University and Syracuse University.

According to McMenamins’ website, Chapman spent multiple seasons broadcasting professional baseball and last year taught WSU’s first-ever sports play-by-play course. He is currently the marketing and communications director at Washington State University and teaches each semester for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.

The presentation will focus on the intricate connections between the United States’ growth and baseball’s history, traditions and evolution.
