Clark County deputies on Monday found human remains in a car that had been in a fire and have a “person of interest” in custody, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.

Deputies were looking for a missing man at his last known home in unincorporated Hazel Dell when they found a car on the property that had recently been on fire. They got a warrant to search the property and found human remains in the car, the sheriff’s office said.

A person of interest in the case is already in custody on unrelated charges, the sheriff’s office said. The office didn’t provide the names of the victim or the person of interest.
