Awesome Chevrolet, a member of the locally owned I-5 Auto Group, confirmed this week that a new Chevy facility will be constructed just north of the I-5 Toyota dealership in Chehalis.
The auto group’s brands include I-5 Toyota, Awesome Ford, I-5 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat, Awesome RV in Chehalis and Olympia, and Volkswagen of Olympia, according to a company representative.
“The construction of a cutting-edge facility … signifies a significant investment by the I-5 Auto Group in the community,” the representative told The Chronicle.
A timeline for the project was not specified, but a spokesperson said I-5 Auto Group is enthusiastic for the venture, calling it a “commitment to further contribute to the community.”
Colin Patterson, service manager at Awesome Chevrolet, expressed excitement about having an expanded and more convenient service department for current and future customers.
The auto group’s vice president, Robert Pehl, said he was “thrilled” to be able to expand the express service department and the “popular pick-up and delivery service.”
This is a service the dealership's service departments already offer, and the promise of added space and capacity, according to Pehl, will allow more customers to take advantage of the program.
I-5 Auto Group also announced its 15th annual “I-5 Back to School Dash” upcoming on Aug. 26 at 9 a.m.
The dash — which many participants choose to walk, bike or even skate — is a fundraiser for scholarships awarded to local students. The event starts and concludes at the I-5 Toyota dealership parking lot, located just off Interstate 5 Exit 79 in Chehalis.
