In Focus: Adna Girls Youth Basketball Team Finds Success at State Championships

The Adna girls youth basketball team went to the Washington State Middle School State Championship and went 3-1 overall, losing only to the eventual state champions by 3. Unlike the high school level, the middle school bracket for Adna consists of 3A and under teams throughout the state. The team is made up mainly of third graders who play up, with four of the five starters being in third grade. Overall, the girls went 36-6 this year, even going 3-1 in a fifth grade tournament in Seaside, Oregon. Adna is coached by Joel DeGuise and Mike Fourtner.  The team includes Emma Fourtner, Cooper Lund, Ella Fourtner, Hudson Lowrey, Piper Skovold, Sydney Strodemier, Parker Clark, Aria Reynolds and Charlotte DeGuise.  These photos and information were submitted by Mike Lowrey.
