Members of Lewis County law enforcement agencies held the annual National Night Out event for community members at George Washington Park in Centralia  on Tuesday.

Attendees had the opportunity to see various police patrol vehicles and speak with officers and deputies from the Centralia Police Department, the Chehalis Police Department, the Napavine Police Department and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The free event also included hot dogs, popcorn, coffee, a bounce house, a dunk tank, live music, giveaways and other kids’ activities.

“National Night Out is a community event that promotes police-community partnerships with the goal of making our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live,” the Centralia Police Department stated in a news release prior to the event. “It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.”
