Christian Barrios spray paints a mural on East Hanson Street in Centralia on Friday, June 28, in these photos by Chronicle photographer Ridley Hudson.
Barrios estimates the mural will take at least one week to complete.
The mural is being paid for by the Centralia Downtown Association.
Work began last week.
The mural, which is on the south wall of El Amigo Tienda, located at 600 North Tower Ave., will feature stylized birds, plants and animals when complete. The public is welcome to view the artist in progress.
More mural and public art projects are planned from the CDA over the coming months.
