Friday marked the first day of a two-day tire recycling event at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds The event continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.It is the second county tire recycling event this month after the first on Oct. 13 in Packwood. County residents can bring up to 12 tires per person. Passenger and light truck tires can be either on or off the rim, while semi-truck tires are required to be off the rim. The county asks that residents not bring tires from business customers, semi-truck tires on the rim or tires from heavy equipment.
