In loving memory of Louella "Lou" Maxine Lee: 1930-2024

On July 28, 2024, our precious mother, Louella "Lou" Maxine Lee, peacefully passed away at her home in Centralia. She was 93. 

Born on Nov. 22, 1930, in Adna, Washington, Louella married the love of her life, David "Bud" Lee, in 1950, and they resided in Centralia together until Bud's passing in 2011.  

She was happily dedicated to her husband and her family, whom she held dearest to her heart. Bud and Louella enjoyed owning and operating The Clover Leaf Motel on Harrison Avenue from 1965 to 1971. Every winter since retirement, she and Bud traveled in their motorhome, visiting every state in the country. She loved making quilts for her three daughters, 10 grandchildren and many others. Each quilt was lovingly quilted by hand.

Louella was the youngest daughter of the late Howard Saxton and Emma Geiszler, of Adna. Her legacy continues to live on in her daughters, DeAnn Virtue, Sheryl Isaacson (Greg) and Carey Lee, as well as her 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  

As we remember Louella, we celebrate a life well-lived, a woman who was the epitome of love, ambition, resilience and supportiveness. Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Louella loved to laugh and made us all feel loved and special.

Please join us at an open house-style celebration of life from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2024, at the Stillwaters Estates Clubhouse in Centralia to honor the entire Saxton family: Howard, Emma, Lorraine (Pete), Wilbur (Nadine) and Louella (Bud), as Louella was the last of her core family.  

We also encourage everyone who knew Louella to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. It is in sharing these precious moments that we keep her spirit alive and honor her remarkable life
