Three people were killed in a separate shooting and stabbing in Kent on Tuesday night, police say.

Police are searching for the suspects in both killings.

In a social media post Wednesday morning, Kent police said that officers responded to a residence on the 21000 block of 120th Place Southeast around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday. Callers had reported hearing gunshots in the area after the sounds of an argument and cars leaving the area quickly.

When officers arrived, they heard someone yelling from behind a residence and found two people who had been shot, police said. Police and medics gave emergency care, but both died before they could be taken to a hospital. Police identified them as a 25-year-old from Seattle and 26-year-old from Federal Way and said they believe the two were killed by someone they knew.

About an hour and a half later and about 6 miles west, another person was killed in a stabbing, Kent police say.

A caller reported to police that they’d found a man lying on the sidewalk who appeared to have been stabbed. When officers responded to the 1700 block of West Meeker Street just before 11:55 p.m., they found a man bleeding profusely.

Officers and medics tried to save the man’s life, but he died of his injuries before he could be taken to the hospital.
