Lazy H.K. Rodeo Winter Series to Return in Silver Creek

There are only two rules at the Lazy H.K. Bar Ranch in Silver Creek: no dogs and no underage drinking.

Though, the latter is only upheld through an honor system. Otherwise, this lawless Lewis County rodeo venue is sure to thrill all kinds during its return on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. with the first show of the Winter Series, a monthly event that will be held until next summer.

“It’s kinda like a party with bull riding attached,” timekeeper Brandy Jacobs previously told The Chronicle.

She has helped out at Lazy HK for over 20 years.

Guests should bring their own beverages and snacks to the rodeo, which is located at 365 Schoen Road in Silver Creek. It costs $10 to enter.

Besides some cash prizes, the winner often is awarded a rifle, Jacobs said.

Those interested in riding should call Beau Shelton at 360-870-1515. Entries cost $100 for open riders and $45 for novice and steer riders. Participants are asked to bring exact change and check in no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
