Like most 80-year-old men, King Donald gets up a lot during the night.
I do not know anything about his bathroom habits, but his mental incontinence is spewed all over the internet the following morning. As sure as the sun rises, his Orwellian named social media account, known hilariously as “Truth Social,” will be soggy with half-baked insults and ideas.
The latest is the ballroom. You know, the replacement for the historic East Wing of the White House where, among many other things, public tours of the “People’s House” began. The East Wing that the King had no authority to knock down, but did it anyway.
The ballroom. “It will all be paid for by private donors,” King Donald said, echoing “Build that wall. Mexico will pay for it,” and countless other BS wild hairs. Now sycophant Republicans are asking for $1 billion to build the ballroom.
This while King Donald attempts to extricate the United States from a grossly misbegotten war with Iran he started and now claims that getting almost back to where things were before hostilities began would be a great victory.
Any presidential advisor for the past 47 years would have told King Donald that if attacked, Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz and constrict 20% of the world’s oil supply, plus fertilizer for large parts of the world, thus making war on the global economy and creating huge inflationary and starvation pressures worldwide. Also that “regime change” in Iran and securing Iran’s stockpiles of enriched uranium would require American ground troops.
I, among many, warned of the inflationary pressures of the King’s crazy tariffs. They have not brought manufacturing back. Quite the opposite. What they have brought is a lot of insider trading on the stock market.
The bill for these actions are coming due and it is not the King’s billionaire buddies who are paying it. It is you and me.
Did you vote in 2024 for masked ICE patrols to brutalize and kill innocent people on American streets? To haul off 80 year old Hmong-American ChongLy “Scotty” Thao in the brutal cold of a Minneapolis Jan. 18 morning wearing only his underwear and sandals? “Mistaken identity,” ICE said.
I am old enough to remember the Hmong people of Vietnam who loyally fought beside American troops in that conflict.
Following the American pullout in 2021, thousands of Afghans were evacuated to Qatar. Most were resettled under the Biden Administration, but about 1,000 remain. Since January 2025, King Donald has halted the resettlement program to the U.S. and is now proposing to send these 1,000 or so Afghans to the completely foreign Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, currently in a state of civil war.
In 2024 did you vote for an end to mail-in ballots? Or Trump family corruption and self-dealing on a historic scale? Or to become the world’s pariah by dissing all our allies? Or to become the full fledged ally of the gangster, kleptocratic, murderous Russian government of Vladimir Putin?
Locally, a vote for John Braun is a vote to rubber stamp this madness.
