Full disclosure: I did not vote for Commissioner Scott Brummer during the last election cycle and instead campaigned extensively for his opponent.
Therefore, I was more than a little surprised when he graciously accepted my repeated requests for his time to discuss issues important to me. He has provided input and helped find funding for community projects such as the “rewilding” of Coal Creek as well as the creation of a Bioeconomy Development Opportunity Zone.
He always finds time for updates from the Chehalis Basin Collaborative for Salmon Restoration, a diverse group of citizens and agencies doing extensive work in the Chehalis Basin to improve habitat.
Commissioner Brummer and I do not agree on every issue, but he always makes time to listen, understand an issue and respect my opinion.
After thoughtful consideration, he then explains why he either can or cannot support a particular position, almost always suggesting a compromise if there is significant disagreement.
I’ve developed both a personal and professional respect for Commissioner Brummer; his concern for both my issues and the citizens of Lewis County is genuine.
Commissioner Brummer has proven to be an intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate leader who has earned my full support for re-election in November 2026.
I encourage you to join me in reelecting Commissioner Brummer to another term as Lewis County commissioner.
