I recently wrote a letter to the editor expressing my thoughts on what I consider the unbiblical position taken by the national Democratic Party.
I did not consider the feelings of our local Democrats, who I know are good Christians.
Some are friends of mine. Well, at least I hope they are still friends.
One good friend emailed me and pointed out that two of them live in his house. For that afront, I sincerely apologize and humbly request forgiveness.
I am typically a “live and let live” kind of guy. One counterpoint letter to the editor described me as a bigot, which from my statements, I may well be considered as such, even though I do not consider myself as one.
I suppose some would describe me as an intolerant lout, but where do we draw the line for good solid moral grounds and measure them against our biblical beliefs? That is my conundrum and why I risk the wrath of those with more liberal beliefs than my own.
I mean no ill will toward homosexuals and would never want to see them oppressed even if I disagree with their lifestyle. I will pray for them and would never shun them. On the issue of government-paid transgender support, I must draw the line and simply state my opposition. The message sent by these actions in our schools further undermines healthy moral values that should be modeled for our youth.
On the national Democratic platform however, I would postulate the following analogy as compared to the biblical gospels. The Pharisees, the scribes and the lawyers in biblical times can be accurately described as follows: The Pharisees were hypocrites, the scribes are academics who worship their own intellect, and the lawyers are the legal minds who use the law as a weapon, and so they all are enemies of the redeemer, according to the gospels.
The problem with the Pharisees is that they used their religion in the worst possible way. It is very clear that the law has been employed in a clear effort to derail former President Trump’s campaign for reelection, and fortunately these efforts have failed, although the effort clearly is used by Trump haters in the election disinformation effort.
The most evil people use the best possible ideas to the worst possible ends, and that is where the Democratic leadership in America will be placed in the annals of history.
Yeah, I know, I probably shouldn’t be digging the hole deeper, huh?
