Letter to the Editor: Apology to Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer

Posted

Recently, I submitted a letter to the editor regarding charges not being filed in the Aron Christensen case.

I unjustly accused Mr. Meyer of being weak and spineless. That statement was unnecessary and unfair considering what he had to work with.

Mr. Meyer, I humbly and sincerely apologize.

I’ve seen so many cases that were botched in Lewis County that I was speaking out of frustration. There was no incompetence in the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office. The incompetence lies with Sheriff Rob Snaza and his officers that were involved in the investigation.

The prosecutor’s office was given a substandard investigation with an embarrassing absence of evidence. The officers involved in the Christensen death investigation should be terminated.

Snaza needs to step down and let a more competent person take control of the sheriff’s office.

I stated months ago that this case would be Snaza’s legacy and he will be lucky if he is not recalled.
