Letter to the Editor: Centralia School District administration deserves significant praise

Posted

Centralians should praise the administration at Centralia School District for their management of financial resources. Their careful management of the district’s finances have resulted in an A1 bond rating. Thus, the district was able to refinance the 2017 voter-approved bonds for Centralia High School, Fords Prairie Elementary, and Jefferson-Lincoln Elementary. The refinance saves local taxpayers $5.75 million in direct savings. This is not money the district accrues. It is a direct reduction in the property tax that every property owner pays. In these difficult financial times, Joseph Vetteer (Executive Director of Fiscal resources) and Dr. Lisa Grant (Superintendent) deserve significant praise for their concern for local taxpayers. It is hard work. They do it well.
