Letter to the editor: Don’t lose heart amid dark headlines

Posted

Don’t lose heart.

It’s understandable to look at the news on the national, international and even local stages and suspect that darkness and evil are increasing in our world.

I felt a moment of this when I saw The Chronicle headline that the White Pass school superintendent had been arrested on child pornography charges. (Credible charges had already been revealed about our beloved Dr. Pope.)

But when I considered this further it came to me that darkness is not increasing. It is being revealed. And if it is being revealed, that means that the light is increasing; it’s starting to shine in the dark corners.

So I would argue that love, light and fellowship is actually increasing.  This is the reality I experience when I interact with my community and my family.

Don’t lose heart.  These revelations will continue as long as the light increases.
