I am writing to express my support for Elijah White in his campaign for Chehalis City Council, At-Large Position 1.
Having worked in Chehalis for 49 years, I have watched closely the community face both challenges and opportunities — and I believe Elijah has the experience, vision and commitment to guide you forward.
First, Elijah’s deep roots in the Chehalis area and his investment in the community distinguish him. He has been active as a Chamber Ambassador and has engaged with local small businesses. He has also served in leadership roles on various committees — roles that require both collaboration and responsibility. His connection to Chehalis is not just professional, but personal: he has spoken about fighting for his family and for families across the city.
Second, Elijah has demonstrated a practical and fiscally conscientious approach. In his campaign materials, he emphasizes keeping taxes low, investing in critical infrastructure and making city hall more responsive to residents and small businesses. These priorities matter greatly in an era when many municipalities struggle with budget pressures, maintenance backlogs, and demands for growth. A leader who understands both the numbers and the impact on everyday families is essential.
Third, the challenges before Chehalis require someone who is forward looking and collaborative. The city is already working on managing growth in the south Chehalis UGA area, coordinating infrastructure, land use and other services across jurisdictions. The demands of annexation, public safety, taxation and economic development call for someone who can build consensus, engage stakeholders and plan for long-term sustainability. I believe Elijah is well suited to that role.
In short, I believe Elijah White will serve with integrity, accountability, and genuine care for all of Chehalis. I encourage others who love the city to learn more about him, to attend his forums and to give him your support on election day.
