Did the MAGA voters vote to stab our European democratic allies of very long standing in the back? Seeking to take Greenland from Denmark, an ally of the United States since 1815? Torching NATO? That is not in our interest. It serves the interests of Vladimir Putin.
Did you vote for Elon Musk? Another faithless man who seeks to chain saw Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Veteran Administration, NOAA, FEMA, the FAA and other very useful agencies.
Musk’s lies about Social Security are purposeful. They are intended to create an impression in the minds of many that Social Security is a wastrel outfit riddled with “fraud, waste and abuse.” He says “Social Security is the biggest Ponzi scheme in history.”
That is all BS. Social Security has paid out every dollar it has ever taken in. It operates on very lean 2-3% administrative costs. Over the last 10 years, Social Security, in audits, has been proven to have less than 1% irregularities in payments. No dead people. No 300-year-old people lining their pockets. The irregularities are almost exclusively overpayments to legitimate recipients. 1 in four Lewis County residents receives Social Security benefits.
Currently, only the first $176,000 of income is subject to Social Security taxes. Remove that cap and Social Security will be solvent far into the future.
About 38% of the children in Lewis County receive their medical care through Medicaid. Sixty percent of Americans in nursing homes are covered by Medicaid. Trump and Musk propose to slash almost $1 trillion from Medicaid over the next 10 years. Already overburdened, working families in Lewis County will suffer greatly from Medicaid cuts.
Rural, red counties and states will bear the brunt of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and VA cuts.

Sorry, Curtis. There is no “humane alternative to genocide,” but if a chain saw is taken to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the VA, they will have done much to accomplish that goal.
So MAGA Lewis County, think real hard about embracing faithless men like Trump and Musk. They will give you the same treatment they are giving Canada, Ukraine, Denmark, Greenland and Europe.
They will stab you in the back without a second thought.
