Current Rep. Jim Walsh has repeatedly sworn an oath to support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of the state of Washington.
But now that he is also the chairperson of the Washington state Republican Party, it’s clear his primary objective is to spread President Trump’s unconstitutional and un-American rhetoric that extols exclusion and marginalization in the rabid pursuit of fascistic hegemony.
Case in point, earlier this month on his Facebook page, Mr. Walsh posted an AI-generated cartoon that read, “To be against the Save America Act is to allow cheating in our elections.”
He then wrote in the caption that he strongly supports Congress enacting this law.
But Mr. Walsh knows there isn’t cheating in our elections, and that the SAVE Act is not only federally unconstitutional on a variety of fronts, it’s also a direct attack on Washington’s system of mail-in balloting that is enshrined by our state Constitution and the laws that flow from it.
It’s one thing that Jim Walsh has long amplified the despicable lies and divisive demagoguery that serve to legitimize Mr. Trump’s authoritarian actions, but it’s beyond the pale he’s now actively engaging in vote-disenfranchising sedition against all three of the legal bedrocks contained in his oath of office.
Jim Walsh is aiding and abetting a deranged tyrant who is hell-bent on undermining the rule of law and subverting any constraints on the Executive Branch. He is a faithless traitor to the people of the 19th Legislative District.
