It has become impossible to ignore the pattern in how state Reps. Jim Walsh and Joel McEntire communicate with the public.
Their statements don’t reflect thoughtful leadership — they mirror the same prepackaged propaganda pumped out by national outrage machines. At this point, it’s hard to tell whether they’re speaking for themselves or simply parroting whatever talking point best stirs division.
Even more alarming is the way they treat their own constituents.
Their tone is routinely combative, sneering, and dripping with condescension. It’s a style better suited to online trolls than elected officials. Instead of engaging with community concerns, they belittle them. Instead of representing people, they intimidate them.
This is not public service; it’s posturing. And it’s beneath the standards our district deserves.
Southwest Washington needs leaders who think critically and communicate with integrity — not officials who rely on propaganda and bully tactics to score political points. Constituents deserve better than this constant stream of hostility and canned ideological theatrics.
It’s time for accountability.
