Letter to the editor: Lost billfold restores faith in human nature

Posted

So much of our news today is what we consider “bad.” Here is a happy story, and a sincere “thank you” for a kind and general act.

Several weeks ago, I finished my shopping at Chehalis Walmart and left, not realizing I’d dropped my billfold. I did other errands, but didn’t need my credit card or license, so I didn’t miss them until the next day. After searching my house, car and everywhere else I could imagine, there was only one logical conclusion: my billfold must have fallen out of my pocked at Walmart. Of all places!

I called customer service, but got no answer, so I just stopped by. They were happy to help, and there it was — at lost and found — complete with the cash-back I’d gotten at the register.

It did a lot to restore my faith in human nature.

Thanks again to a Good Samaritan!
