I am just curious.
Since at least 1946, the City of Chehalis has been called “The Mint City” by The Chronicle.
Yet, the city council of Chehalis continues to call Chehalis “The Rose City.”
I would think people associate the term Rose City with Pasadena, California, holder of the yearly Rose Parade. Although some may think of Portland, Oregon. But I believe no one outside of a very few think of Chehalis when the term Rose City is mentioned.
I don’t think it would incur a large cost nor take a long time to rename Chehalis The Mint City. Everyone already calls Chehalis “The Mint City,” with the exception of the Chehalis City Council.
I am curious as to why this change has not taken place.
