Letter to the Editor: Only a Good Guy With a Gun Can Stop a Bad Guy With a Gun

Posted

Who is letter writer Katherine Ford and who gave her the power to interpret the U.S. Constitution?

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that modern weaponry ownership is protected by the Second Amendment, but she wants only muskets protected.

What is “baffling” is her willingness to curb gun use by good people. No one blamed the gun when John Wilkes Booth used one to assassinate Lincoln.

Regardless of your simplistic attempt at a remedy, a bad guy will be able to obtain a gun no matter how many laws are enacted to keep that from happening.

You can’t keep lethal weapons out of the hands of lawless criminals by passing laws. History demonstrates that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to employ a good guy with a gun.
