These comments are in response to recent public statements by the county's law enforcement background investigator and shared by other connected individuals who are perhaps attempting to begin defending pending decertification issues and related mismanagement concerns surrounding those issues.
In January, I believe Lewis County Sheriff Rob Snaza broke Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) protocol to publicly retaliate against a WSCJTC complainant and his family member. Despite having chosen the wrong complainant, which resulted in the pending decertification that Mr. Snaza appeared to be retaliating about.
I promptly asked Mr. Snaza to be formally censured or resign from WSCJTC for repeatedly violating their bylaws, and he did in fact resign promptly at the start of the March WSCJTC meeting. This resignation was stated to be a retirement despite another year in his term; however, public comments leading up to this abrupt "retirement" may reflect a different story.
I'm still waiting for Mr. Snaza to also "retire" locally as previously requested.
From my perspective as a complainant in both the pending case and a previous one, local law enforcement did little to nothing during the retaliation campaign(s) after Roger, which I personally went through for simply doing the right thing that others in power had ignored for years.
I refuse to be silent while watching retaliatory patterns similar to those I was subjected to repeated again on anyone else in my community.
Rob should "retire" from this profession — not just the WSCJTC.
