I just attended a school performance by the Southwest Washington Dance Center that was spectacular.
The Orin Smith Elementary School is so perfect, built side by side with the Lintott Elementary, and the students were very well behaved. Their expressions were excitement and awe seeing other kids, some their own age, doing intricate dances in lovely costumes.
The small group of interested citizens attending were introduced to the new principal and assistant. The stands were filled and our seats were great to see a perfect “Alice in Wonderland” performance.
Marcia Greenfield, the administrator of the dance school, introduced the cast and, after one of the most exciting performances, the curtain call caused the audience to clap and shout their admiration.
Students were given the opportunity to see another form of art performed by some of the former students of their school. It inspired the student body that boys and girls had a place right here in town to learn to dance in such a superior style.
