Letter to the editor: Support ballot measure to improve 911 service

Posted

On Nov. 5, Lewis County voters have a choice to make when it comes to supporting our 911 system.

The need to improve our 911 system is vitally important.

In a county where most everyone knows a police officer, the choice is clear we need to support our 911 emergency system.

For our community of small towns, our emergency services teams, such as fire departments, depend on a quality 911 system to work for us.

We need to improve our 911 system because improved systems mean improved safety to our citizens.

By voting yes on the 911 levy, we also are saying that good union jobs are protected because we approve this levy.

I know the importance of emergency services because my cousins are paramedics.

Our taxes will increase but the need for improvement to our 911 ems system is a cost we can take on.

So on Nov. 5, please vote yes on the 911 sales tax.
