Letter to the editor: Unlike most Republicans, Cheney had the guts to tell the truth

Posted

Dick Cheney, the Republican former congressman, secretary of defense and vice president, died on Nov. 3.

He said in 2024 of the current occupant of the White House:

“There has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.”

“He is a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters. He lost his election, and he lost big.  I know it.  He knows it, and deep down, I think most Republicans know.”

Unlike most Republicans, however, Cheney had the guts to tell the truth.
