Letter to the editor: What do Democrats stand for aside from hate for President Trump and MAGA voters?

Posted

King Charles The III is the king of the United Kingdom. He does not have the executive authority of the government of the United Kingdom. He is a figurehead for his country. Most kings in the modern world are figureheads.

President Donald Trump is not a figurehead for the United States. He is assigned the executive power of the United States government by our United States Constitution. Thus, President Trump was elected to execute the law and to operate the executive branch of the U.S. government as the chief executive officer.

He is not a king.

Therefore, Chronicle Publisher Chad Taylor is correct in pointing out that the “No Kings” protesters were successful in that we do not have a king of the United States. Congratulations, Democrats. You got it right.

I believe that the most undesirable political situation exists when the two parties’ members are unable or unwilling to understand their political opponents’ positions on important matters. Here are a few of what I am “unable to understand;”

Why do some people hate President Trump and us MAGA voters, this hate being their main political expression? I have learned that the hater suffers more than the object of the hatred. I have noticed that no matter what President Trump does, these people express hatred for it.  They seem to want our country to fail.

Why do Democrats want to help poor and mistreated people, but they are in favor of the right to kill unborn human babies?

Why do a number of letter writers in The Chronicle think Publisher Chad Taylor should not express his opinion in his paper, while failing to acknowledge the fact that their opposing letters are also published?

I enjoy and appreciate the letters to the editor that are written by progressive Democrats as they educate me about how the writers think about their political positions. However, about all I see are hate for President Trump and hate for MAGA voters and envy of the “rich who do not pay their fair share.”

I challenge the progressive letter writers to straighten me out and explain to me what you stand for besides hate for President Trump and MAGA voters and envy of the rich.
