Letter to the editor: What’s happening in the Caribbean isn’t right

Posted

Many American citizens and commentators are confused about what is happening in the Caribbean.

The president is blowing up boats right and left and this all happened out of the blue, with no warning to anybody.

It’s called war, folks. If you are powerful enough in the government, you just command your military to start attacking sea vessels and killing a bunch of people.

Every foreign boat blown up is an act of war against a country. Blowing up a boat is how the Spanish-American War got started in 1898, and firing on a boat is how the Vietnam War got really going in 1964.

Is all this Caribbean warmongering legal? Of course not. Our Constitution says the Congress declares war, not a power-obsessed despot who gets away with whatever he wants because his people have never read the law.

This administration is not interested in any kind of proof or law. It is only interested in killing brown-skin people who may or may not be running drugs.

There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
