Letter to the editor: With Dr. Pollock, we have a capable and dedicated commissioner

Posted

We have another election approaching, and I’m always struck by the diverse range of candidates who aspire to lead our county. Unfortunately, some lack the necessary experience, knowledge and skills to effectively manage the government.

Thankfully, in the race for Lewis County commissioner, we have Dr. Lindsey Pollock, who brings exceptional skills, extensive education and impeccable character to the role in Commissioner District 2.

Dr. Pollock’s qualifications make her highly suited for managing our county government. She holds an advanced degree, has operated a business, farms and served in various community roles. Her integrity is well-established through her many years of service in our county.

As our current commissioner, she has shown great foresight in planning the government’s leadership for future decades. She has tackled serious and complex issues like infrastructure, resource access and developing a water bank for future generations. Additionally, she possesses the professionalism to navigate federal laws and funding sources.

Finally, I am grateful that Lindsey Pollock is very thoughtful. She doesn’t blow with the wind or bend to peer pressure. She isn’t cowed by powerful special interests, but knows her duty to the people of the county. She certainly isn’t a shallow ideologue, but has real depth of understanding of the wide range of issues from public safety to flooding to economic development to public health.

Too often, our candidates are underqualified but eager to be in charge. With Dr. Pollock, we have a capable and dedicated leader.  Please join me in voting for Dr. Lindsey Pollock, county commissioner in District 2.
