Level 3 Sex Offender Register at North Pearl Street Address in Centralia

A 25-year-old Level 3 sex offender has registered to live at an address in the 2500 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Sean R. Butler is described as a white man standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 175 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.

On March 14, 2018, Butler pleaded guilty in Lewis County Superior Court to two counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and one count of viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. When he was between the ages of 18 and 20, he had conversations with females as young as 13, according to the sheriff’s office. This led to mutual sharing of nude images over social media.

For this, Butler was sentenced to 12 months in prison for viewing the images and 29 months in prison for the communications. The sentences ran concurrently.

On Sept. 14, Butler was convicted for failure to register as a sex offender. He was released from jail Dec. 7.

“Based on his behavior, he has been identified as a risk to the community and this notification is required,” the sheriff’s office stated.

“This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a news release.
