The Lewis County Coroner’s Office is requesting the public’s help in finding family members for the cremated remains of an infant who died in 1992.

The remains belong to Ian Glenn, who was stillborn, referred to by the coroner’s office as a fetal demise, on May 20, 1992, in Anchorage, Alaska.

“We have contacted the funeral home involved and they have switched owners several times and have no records for family. We are not able to get copies of the fetal demise certificate through the State of Alaska,” Coroner Warren McLeod said in a news release on Tuesday.

A sanitation worker delivered the remains to the coroner’s office, according to the news release.

“We do not know how the cremated remains came to be in Lewis County, but if anyone knows of family members for this decedent please contact our office at 360-740-1376,” McLeod said. “If we do not develop any leads by next Tuesday, we will be interning these remains with the other unclaimed remains planned for that day.”

Excluding Ian, the coroner’s office plans to inter 12 sets of unclaimed cremated remains, including one other infant, during a public interment ceremony at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

“These are decedents who have been abandoned or forgotten and  this ceremony provides them with a dignified interment. The public is invited to attend and pay their respects,” McLeod said in a news release.

Pioneer Cemetery is located at 2000 S. Market Blvd. in Chehalis.
