Looking for the perfect Christmas gift for book lovers?

Gift givers and readers will have the opportunity to meet nine local authors and purchase books at an “Evening with the Authors” event, hosted on Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis County Historical Museum.

While never on a formal annual schedule, the museum has hosted author meeting events for several years.

“I’m not even sure when it started,” Lewis County Historical Museum Executive Director Jason Mattson told The Chronicle. “We kind of took a break during the pandemic, and we did ‘Author’s Afternoon’ for a couple of years but we’re going back to the evening.”

Mattson said authors will be around for chatting and book signing throughout the event.

“Light refreshments, coffee and water will be available, and admission to the museum will be free,” Mattson said.

The nine authors appearing at the event include Jan Pierson, Carol Waltz, Jack Bowers, Buddy Rose, Kerry Serl, Julie Zander, Sara Light-Waller, Gretchen Staebler and Steven Craig. According to Mattson, other authors may join as well.

“Buddy Rose does a lot of East Lewis County stuff, Julie Zander is prolific in this area,” said Mattson.
