The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is seeking Lewis County residents interested in participating in the county’s 2027 budget-setting process, a recent news release announced.

The BOCC is seeking volunteers from each commissioner district to attend budget meetings and provide feedback to the commissioners.

Application packets for the Citizens Budget Committee are available at https://tinyurl.com/y45zw753.

Residents interested in participating in the budget process are asked to submit an application and a letter of interest in one of the following three ways:

• By mail at BOCC, Room 210, 351 NW North St., Chehalis, WA, 98532.

• Via email at committees@lewiscountywa.gov, with “Budget” included in the subject line.

• In person at the commissioners office on the second floor of the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 NW North St., Room 210.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

All of the commissioners’ budget meetings are open to the public, and the BOCC encourages all citizens to participate, regardless of whether they join the Citizens Budget Committee.

Budget meetings are tentatively scheduled for all day Sept. 23, Sept. 29 and Oct. 7, with additional shorter updates planned in October and November.

The Citizens Budget Committee also will meet with Budget Director Becky Butler numerous times throughout the budget-setting process.

For questions about the committee, including information about the time commitment, contact Butler by phone at 360-740-1198 or via email at becky.butler@lewiscountywa.gov.

Agendas for all of the commissioners official meetings, including the budget meetings, can be found on the agendas and calendars page at https://tinyurl.com/49f69haf. Agendas are posted at least 24 hours in advance of any meeting and are typically posted by close of business Friday for the following week’s meetings, according to the release.
