Lewis County Seeks Volunteers for Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

Posted

Lewis County is accepting applications to fill a volunteer position on its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC).

Applicants must represent an entity that would be eligible to receive lodging tax grant funding, such as visitors’ centers, destination marketing groups and nonprofits, including lodging associations and chambers of commerce.

The lodging tax, also referred to as the hotel-motel tax, is a consumer tax on lodging for hotels, motels, rooming houses, private campgrounds, RV parks and similar facilities. Lewis County receives lodging taxes collected in unincorporated parts of the county and then distributes the money among Lewis County entities that support tourism. The volunteer committee-members advise the county commissioners on how to best allocate those funds.

Application packets for the committee vacancy are available online at https://lewiscountywa.gov/offices/commissioners/bocc-news/.

The term for this seat expires Dec. 31, 2023.

To apply, submit an application and a letter of interest to Rieva Lester, clerk of the board of commissioners, by mail at 351 NW North St., Chehalis, WA 98532, or via email (attn.: LTAC) at committees@lewiscountywa.gov. Applications are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19.

For questions about the position, contact Lester at 360-740-1419 or Tammy Martin at 360-740-1391.
