Lewis County Stream Team to host guided nature walk focused on riparian buffer planting, maintenance

The Lewis County Stream Team will host a guided nature walk and workshop focused on riparian buffer planting and maintenance from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 18, at 266 Jefferies Road near Adna. 

The walk and workshop will be led by Washington State University Extension Forester Patrick Shults. The public is invited to attend. 

“This guided nature walk is a must for anyone interested in preserving and enhancing our natural environment,” the Lewis County Stream Team stated in a news release. 



Attendees will take state Route 6 from Interstate 5 and travel west toward Pe Ell, staying on state Route 6 for 2 miles before taking a right onto Chilvers Road. After a mile, take a right on Jefferies Road. The gravel parking lot will be marked on the right after Glenview Drive. Stream Team signs will be posted. 

The event is supported by a grant from the Centralia Coal Transition Board.
