Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging Council Volunteers Sought

Posted

The Lewis County Board of Commissioners is seeking volunteers interested in being appointed representatives on the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging advisory council.

The governmental agency is sponsored by the three counties (Lewis, Mason and Thurston) to manage, monitor, plan, fund, coordinate and advocate for services and programs that serve the elderly and younger disabled persons, according to a news release.

The agency’s advisory council meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon the first Wednesday of each month at the AAA office in Olympia. Members are assigned to committees covering topics like health promotion, small-project support and public information. Members are not paid, but the agency offers mileage reimbursements to offset the cost of attending meetings. Appointees can serve up to three consecutive two-year terms.

For the application packet, visit the “BOCC News” section on the bottom right-hand side of the commissioners’ web page at https://lewiscountywa.gov/offices/commissioners/.

Applications should be sent in duplicate to the BOCC and the agency via email at committees@lewiscountywa.gov and tobias.santos@dshs.wa.gov. Include “LMTAAA” in the subject line.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.
