Having won the ExciteFight championship belt this past summer, professional MMA fighter and W.F. West High School graduate Kayla “Killer Kay” Weed recently announced she is holding a fundraiser for Empower Philippines.

“One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the charity,” Weed wrote in an email to The Chronicle.

The fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at The Loft, located at 547 NW Pacific Ave. in downtown Chehalis.

Tickets cost $30 for general admission and $600 for VIP. Those wishing to attend can RSVP by Venmo, paying @Therese-Verzosa using code 2699.

Limited tickets will be available at the door the day of the fundraiser, which will feature dinner and drinks, ballroom dancing, a silent auction and a dessert auction.

Empower Philippines is a nonprofit based out of Washington state and the Philippines aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos living with disabilities, special needs, poverty and tragedy, according to its website.
