A summer of golfing success will lead to Bremerton for a local pair of golfers, as June Moran and Joann Timpone are bound for the Washington Women’s Net Four-Ball Match Play state championship next weekend at Gamble Sands Golf Course.

Moran comes from Riverside Golf Club, while Timpone is from Newaukum Valley Golf Club. The two have played through five rounds against other duos. It started with three rounds of pool play that saw the pair go 1-2, but qualify for the round of 32 on a tiebreaker. After earning the No. 17 seed, Moran and Timpone pulled a minor upset in the first round, before taking down the top-seeded pair last weekend in the quarterfinals to make the final eight.

The Lewis County two will take on Wanda Synnestvedt and Terry Graham out of Port Townsend on Oct. 5, with a shot at the semifinals on the line and a $10,000 merchandise payout still in their grasp.
