Loggers Fall at Home to Ducks

The Onalaska boys basketball team came up short on senior night Tuesday, falling 73-51 to Toutle Lake.

“We challenged the guys to compete with toughness and focus for four quarters,” Onalaska coach Brent Wood said. “ I thought we executed alright for about a quarter, but then a missed block out, or turnover, or poor foul or defensive miscue terrorized us all night. The kids know it and see the mistakes on film, but we just haven’t been able to get over that hump.”

Case McGraw led Ony with 10 points, with Nick Rushton and Ben Russon both chipping in nine. Zach Swanson led all scorers for Toutle Lake with 29.

The Ducks jumped out to a 20-11 lead after a quarter, but the Loggers held strong in the second, bringing it back to a seven-point game. That changed in the fourth, with Toutle Lake getting back to its groove on offense and staying there the whole way.

Onalaska finishes its C2BL slate with a 3-10 league record. The Loggers will wrap their season up Wednesday at Mossyrock for one more non-league contest.
