The Onalaska volleyball team suffered its first defeat of the season on Tuesday, losing in three sets to White Salmon, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19.

The Loggers (2-1) lacked energy from the start according to coach Susan Gordon, as she said the team lacked “commitment to what we stand for.”

“With youth comes lessons to learn,” Gordon said. “We learned some hard lessons tonight.”

Emalie Jacoby was one of the few bright spots on the night for the Loggers, as she tallied 10 kills, 10 digs and 6 assists. Capri McGraw recorded 10 digs and 4 aces, and Sommer Zurinskas also logged 4 kills.

Onalaska’s next chance to bounce back will come on Thursday at Forks, where they will take on the Spartans at 7:15 p.m.
