On a bright and sunny day in Logger Country, the Onalaska baseball team split its doubleheader with Rainier, winning the first matchup 2-0, before falling 7-0 to close out the day in five innings.
In the first game, the Loggers allowed just two hits, with starting pitcher Jeremy Larson going 4.1 innings with eight punchouts and no earned runs.
At the plate, Ethan Cameron knocked in the game’s first run in the first inning on a line drive to center, and Ayden Haag advanced to home plate on a fielder’s choice after a hard hit from Larson to do the damage for the Loggers.
In the second game, the Mountaineers flipped the script, shutting out the Loggers in five innings and allowing just one hit from Tuff Lyons. On offense, Rainier got a 2 for 2 performance from Ethan Gonzales, who knocked in a run, and John Kenney added two more runs batted in with two runs scored as well on a 1 for 2 showing.
The Loggers will play Napavine next on Thursday, while the Mountaineers look to keep it rolling against Morton-White Pass.
