Taking down Kalama in the first ever-important league contest 8-7, and then winning the less important non-league contest 20-10, the Onalaska softball team pulled off a doubleheader sweep Friday afternoon against Kalama on the road.

In the first, 8-7 win, the Loggers’ Lisa Lidell had a strong start in the circle, throwing the first four innings, before making way for Braelyn Babb, who pitched an inning and a third before getting replaced again by Liddell.

Liddell finished with 5 2/3 innings pitched, allowing two earned runs on four hits and five walks with 12 strikeouts, while Babb went an inning and a third, with one earned run on two hits and two walks with two punchouts.

Liddell went 3 for 4 at the plate, Kate Zandell went 2 for 4 on a pair of doubles, and Desi Smith went 2 for 5 at leadoff with two doubles.

In the second game, a 20-10 win in five innings, Cierra Berg went a perfect 2 for 2 and drew two walks, and Smith and Zandell each went 3 for 4 at the plate.

The Loggers will head out on the road again next week, taking on Toutle Lake in a doubleheader in Cowlitz County at 3 p.m.
