Lutman Tosses No-Hitter in Win Over Wolves

Posted

In a complete game dominant pitching performance, W.F. West senior pitcher Hunter Lutman tossed a seven-inning no-hitter in a 5-0 2A Evergreen Conference win over Black Hills Tuesday afternoon in Chehalis.

The senior slinger got the job done on 99 pitches, striking out 12 and walking just four, helping the Bearcats remain unbeaten in league play in the early season.

On offense, the Bearcats gave him more than enough run support, scoring five runs on four hits, and Lutman’s defense didn’t commit a single error.

Gavin Fugate went 2 for 2 at the dish with a run scored, Weston Potter went 1 for 2 with two runs scored, and Evan Stajduhar knocked in a run on a 1 for 2 day.

The Bearcats and Wolves will meet up for a second time in as many days Wednesday in Thurston County.
