Three juveniles are suspected of being involved in a vehicle prowl turned shooting late Thursday in Parkland, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department says.

The initial 911 call came from a man who reported that someone was breaking into his car and he was holding the suspect at gunpoint near 146th Street Court South and Pacific Ave South. Moments later, the man reported gunshots, according to a media release.

Deputies were dispatched at 10:34 p.m.. When they arrived, they found that the man sustained injuries from several gunshot wounds. First aid was administered and deputies set up a perimeter, the release said.

The suspect, who was wearing a clown mask, left behind a white Hyundai sedan. A records check discovered the sedan was stolen from the Seattle area. A search was launched with assistance from a K9 team and Guardian 1, the King County Sheriff's Department's helicopter, the release said.

Several guns were located behind a nearby house as well as the clown mask. It appeared that the suspect was picked up by a car before deputies could find them. Deputies believe three juvenile males were involved in the incident, the release said.

The man is expected to recover from his injuries. Any information about this incident can be reported as an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers, the release said.
