Rochester’s Izzy Masias earned match medalist honors and the Warriors were able to hold off visiting Shelton for a 43-40 victory at Riverside Golf Course on Wednesday.

Masias shot a match-best 19 points behind two clutch pars to spearhead the Warriors. Audrey Williams notched her first-ever birdie to finish with six points. Bailey McLellan added seven, Cassey Arregaldo had five and Mercy Hayden finished with six.

“We knew this was going to be a competitive match,” Rochester coach Brian Keese said. “It was our highest score at Riverside this season. Really proud of the way they came out to score just enough to win.”

Shelton was led by Kaia Johnson’s team-high 15 points, while Taylia Bugge had 13, Alena Hall had five and Gabby Stevens contributed seven.

Rochester next plays for the third day in a row when they face Centralia on Thursday at Riverside.
